Grace Triumphs Over Judgment!

Facing people who love to argue about philosphical / religious matter, just be gentle and listen to their point of views. Ponder how they come into their current mindset, observe their background, life experience, social standings, work life, family member's personality, parental teaching, etc.

Arguing back is simply foolish. A loving heart that's willing to listen and understand is so much better.

Church today teaches about God's all-encompassing love and grace. We are loved and forgiven no matter what we do, did, or will do. Dot.

The Cause: Right Living, Newness of Life
By Ps Indra Lim

Q: Do we support sin? Does grace-teaching support sin?

A: What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (Romans 6:1, 2 NIV)

The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. (Hebrews 7:18, 19 NIV)

Q: So is the Law sin?

A: What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead. Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death. So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good. (Romans 7:7-12 NIV)

He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets. (Deuteronomy 4:13 NIV)

Q: Will this grace makes us want to sin freely?

A: The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” (Hebrews 10:15-17 NIV)

For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14 NIV)

This is the Gospel: we are saved by believing in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. We are saved by grace, not by works.

Grace takes time to transform us because it works within us, changing us from the inside out.

Q: Doesnt believing in God's forgiveness makes us say Yes to sin?

A: For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (Titus 2:11, 12 NIV)

Take home message:
1. Focus on your identity in Christ, not on the law.
2. Focus on His love, not judgment or fear
