Through The Rain

My church The Cause will host the month of Strength in this upcoming March. It's Die Hard! Since I'm ministering in the social media/communication dept, we're starting to think about strength.. how to be strong, verses or God's words about how to stay strong and face problems, how to live a strong life, etc..

I think God does speak in many unpredictable ways to people. When I hear this song by Mariah Carey, I can't help to think about strong people who just make it through the storms. You know, being strong doesn't mean you have a natural antibody toward any expression of emotional vulnerability or you can split the river into two halves or lift tons of weight. And I'm sure we all know that strong people doesn't mean they're never broken or discouraged.

We live on the same earth and breathe the same air, see the same sun every morning and face the same annoying people everyday. Everyone is the same, we all have the natural capacity to survive and fight for life. Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. So what makes some stronger while some weaker?

Strong people bounce back faster. They move past the hurdles and get back up on their feet quicker than others. They know their self-worth, they identify their potentials and they understand their problems. They just don't give up.

They don't just wait for the storm to pass - they learn to dance in the rain. They make great things happen in the pit they're in. They dig up gold out of dirts. And that's always true anywhere in the world. There are countless stories of amazing, incredible things who happen in the most unbelievable life situations.

Blind men with amazing musical abilities and limbs strength, dirtpoor streetkid-not even a school grad who make it to Forbes, cancer patients who battled the disease for decades and live, families destroyed by terrible earthquakes/tsunamis that just, simply said, survive..

Tough times never last, but tough people do
Robert H. Schuller

You never know how strong you really are until being strong is the only choice you have. It comes back to you and how you choose to live your life. Problems will always exist anywhere anyway you live. Your parents may be divorced, your boss may hate you, your physical appearance may dissapoint you, your friends may turn you down, your business partners may betray you, or even your God Himself may seem to be going against you.

You may be in the stormiest season of your life now, but hey, tough times never last. Tough people do. So don't think too much about things and just focus on what you can do about em. Your response to life situations will shape your journey. Your attitude will shape your experience. Do you see a storm, or do you see a rainbow after the rain?

Be strong, and always get your daily dose of strength from God. He's supernatural. Get through that storm and be the inspiration this world badly needs. Be a witness of God :)

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.

Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.

For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you."

- Isaiah 41:10-13

This article, by the way, is a heartfelt encouragement inspired by a story of a good friend. Always see him as a happy person, dedicated, committed and confident in pursuing what he wants in life. He's so full of energy and being around him has really encouraged me to be positive about things. One day I accidentally knew that he comes out of a divorced family background and it was such a shocking experience to me. I believe God has done so much in his life, shape him so much until he becomes who he is right now. You've inspired me so much.

Through The Rain - Mariah Carey

When you get caught in the rain with no where to run
When you're distraught and in pain without anyone
When you keep crying out to be saved
But nobody comes and you feel so far away
That you just can't find your way home
You can get there alone
It's okay, what you say is

I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again on my own
And I know that I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day and I make it through the rain

And if you keep falling down don't you dare give in
You will arise safe and sound, so keep pressing on steadfastly
And you'll find what you need to prevail
What you say is

I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again on my own
And I know that I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day and I make it through the rain

And when the rain blows, as shadows grow close don't be afraid
There's nothing you can't face
And should they tell you you'll never pull through
Don't hesitate, stand tall and say

I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again on my own
And I know that I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day and I make it through the rain

I can make it through the rain
And I live once again
And I live one more day
And I can make it through the rain
Yes you can,
You will make it through the rain
