Through The Rain

My church The Cause will host the month of Strength in this upcoming March. It's Die Hard! Since I'm ministering in the social media/communication dept, we're starting to think about strength.. how to be strong, verses or God's words about how to stay strong and face problems, how to live a strong life, etc..

I think God does speak in many unpredictable ways to people. When I hear this song by Mariah Carey, I can't help to think about strong people who just make it through the storms. You know, being strong doesn't mean you have a natural antibody toward any expression of emotional vulnerability or you can split the river into two halves or lift tons of weight. And I'm sure we all know that strong people doesn't mean they're never broken or discouraged.

We live on the same earth and breathe the same air, see the same sun every morning and face the same annoying people everyday. Everyone is the same, we all have the natural capacity to survive and fight for life. Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. So what makes some stronger while some weaker?

Strong people bounce back faster. They move past the hurdles and get back up on their feet quicker than others. They know their self-worth, they identify their potentials and they understand their problems. They just don't give up.

They don't just wait for the storm to pass - they learn to dance in the rain. They make great things happen in the pit they're in. They dig up gold out of dirts. And that's always true anywhere in the world. There are countless stories of amazing, incredible things who happen in the most unbelievable life situations.

Blind men with amazing musical abilities and limbs strength, dirtpoor streetkid-not even a school grad who make it to Forbes, cancer patients who battled the disease for decades and live, families destroyed by terrible earthquakes/tsunamis that just, simply said, survive..

Tough times never last, but tough people do
Robert H. Schuller

You never know how strong you really are until being strong is the only choice you have. It comes back to you and how you choose to live your life. Problems will always exist anywhere anyway you live. Your parents may be divorced, your boss may hate you, your physical appearance may dissapoint you, your friends may turn you down, your business partners may betray you, or even your God Himself may seem to be going against you.

You may be in the stormiest season of your life now, but hey, tough times never last. Tough people do. So don't think too much about things and just focus on what you can do about em. Your response to life situations will shape your journey. Your attitude will shape your experience. Do you see a storm, or do you see a rainbow after the rain?

Be strong, and always get your daily dose of strength from God. He's supernatural. Get through that storm and be the inspiration this world badly needs. Be a witness of God :)

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.

Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.

For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you."

- Isaiah 41:10-13

Sky's The Limit

Scientific discoveries keep on surprising our race since the old times. When weird diseases spring up, miraculous cures combat them. When terrible disaster destroy lives, countless incredible humanitarian acts rush in. Hunger and poverty-ridden slum areas produce extraordinary business leaders and enterpreneurs. Physical disability may cripple families but it doesn't cripple their hearts. I've seen many Youtube clips on amazing number of people who're born with severe disabilities and have no other choice than to accept the condition.

What do they do? They rise up. Yes, they were depressed, suicidal and were so deep in the pit that they didn't see any other motivation to keep on living life. But they went through all that and found the greatest meaning in life. They rise up, they live as a blessing for others, as a witness for God's amazing transformation of their heart, as a rock when the weaker others desperately need encouragement. They shine..

"For all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

People rise up in the most dire and difficult life circumstances. People always do.

When bad things happen, there's always the great stuffs that come to fill in the blank. We may not be able to choose where, or how, or what kind of living condition we're born with. But just have faith that when there's a super weird problem come upon you and crush your spirit... be excited. That means some amazing things are going to happen real soon. "When God gives you the why, God gives you the how."

We are human. Being resilient is in our natural genetic composition. You may be at your lowest point for some period of time, but you'll bounce back and look toward an even higher life points. You'll rise up and you'll run toward a bigger destination. You'll be transformed by God, you'll have the fire to pursue things greater than your failure, and you'll bless many others among the journey. You'll be the live, walking testimony of God's amazing power that heals and shapes you to be who you are right now. You'll shine, and God's name will be proclaimed all over the earth :)

When you're squeezed, stressed, pressured, etc. You'll rise up. It's just natural. Believe in yourself.

Let It Roll - An Anthem

The wheel's turning, the step's pacing up.
There's no time to swell, just some nights to lull.
Will you greet the dawn; or will you flaunt a yawn?
The time's ripe, the hour's set,
For a kick and for a jump.
So let's get it rollin, babe.

Let it roll and take a stroll.
Look ahead and pace it up.
Steady your feet and poise a stance.
Catch the sparkles, see it twinkles.
Feel the heat, seize the beat.
Breathe. Take a deep breath.
And let it roll.

Get it rollin and dance a balling
The street is calling
Don the rhythm and blow this anthem
Feel the breeze and taste the vibes
Grab those swift steps, ain't need no preps
Be overwhelmed. Be amazed.
Be thrilled. Be amused.
Your body's in awe.
 So let it roll.

Miranda Kerr in David Jones Spring/Summer 2012

One of the most distinguishable benefit of living in a tropical country like Indonesia is the all-year long sunshine and warm air. Although there's a rainy season (we recently got huge flood covering most area in Jakarta), it's still warm. And that means: freedom of summer-style clothing expression for the whole year.

Here are some pics from David Jones spring/summer 2012 brand book, featuring Miranda Kerr in her trimmed, post-pregnancy flat tummy (envy much) and lovely smile. The slick hairdo looks good on her too. But yeah, I think she looks good in everything anyway.

Photographed by Nicole Bentley and Hugh Stewart featuring clothes from various Australian designers (Collette Dinnigan, Lisa Ho, Alex Perry, Akira Isogawa, Dion Lee, Josh Good, and Willow).

Miranda Kerr for Mango Spring 2013

You look at those hip and abs. Haha. Lady Kerr is posing for Mango Springwear 2013. She's the cutest, healthiest, sexiest model I've ever seen. She's one with the most gorgeous hair too. Always the bouncy, elegant/casual/next-door-type of hair. And scandal free. Admire this lady so much.
