Wisdom: More Than Memorizing Verses

What is wisdom?

Is it knowing more things? Reading more books? Experiencing more? Earning more money?

Is it ability to read people? Diplomacy skill? Leading more people?

Hear what the Bible says.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Psalms 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and they who live by it grow in understanding.

The world may define wisdom in its own many ways. We have zillions of character building and self-development books in circulation. We have private coaches to counsel the top corporate executives. Some even go as far as saying, "If any of you lack wisdom, ask Google!"

Obviously, everybody from all walks of life is searching for wisdom. Girls don't want to be just pretty and sexy, but pretty and sexy and wise. Guys don't want to be just rich and hot, but rich and hot and wise.

We want wisdom!

Luckily, for us Christians there is one simple, absolute starting point of wisdom. And it sure won't come by remembering more verses or building more churches. It begins from the fear of the LORD.

Let's be genuine. Do you fear God? Does it come across your mind, that every little thing you do is being seen and observed by God?

He can see everything from up there. Things that you do in secret, or thoughts that you have in your mind, He can smell all those.

What do you think God smells out of you? What is wisdom to you? ]:D
