Lady Antebellum: Need You Now

It's because people in my office are always singing this song. On the desk, during working hours, in the car, in the airport, lunchtime, too many times already until I hum this song unconsciously when I'm with them.

Both of my colleagues have a penchant in singing. Well they have a great voice and they make a good duo. So I don't mind.. lol.

Going to karaoke next Monday! I'm excited about it and can't wait hihi.

Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2012 Campaign Ads: Always ExtraTerrestrial

Each image contains two opposing shots of model Suvi Koponen all dressed up in astounding McQueen signature dresses. Exaggerated shapes, bizarre heels, and futuristic super-short blonde hair (and eyebrows) make a perfect McQueen campaign.

The ads is shot by David Sims, as usual. The iceberg-like decor really give the beautiful Suvi Koponen an otherworldly McQueen aura. She looks like an extraterrestrial.

Fantastic couture.

Hunger Games Soundtrack: Taylor Swift, Safe and Sound

Somehow, I didn't recall hearing this song when watching the Hunger Games. At all. Most of my friends also didn't remember this song in the movie. So we were taken aback when our more "knowledgable" friend told us that this song's actually already 4 months old (the movie was released at end of March).

She's so pretty hereee.. I wasn't really into Taylor Swift before, but this MV totally change my perception about her. Her voice in this ballad is so pretty.. so soft and soothing. And her appearance and hairdo here is really sweet. She wore a white long, country-style muslin that looks wonderful with her gentle voice and gaze.

The song is inspired by the thoughts and emotions of Katniss (Hunger Games' main character) in her solitude. The serene background is also intended to portray her hometown.. before she was taken to the weird far away land to join the weird games. So full of hope and beautiful :)

Jegging Rainbow Collection

Jegging Rainbow Collection

Soo.. as part of my blog expansion program, here I am trying to sell fashionable goods online. These are jeggings from very stretchy cotton material. Very soft and very comfortable to wear. Perfect for all seasons round.

But what I love the most is the colour selection. Specially the orange. I find it the most attractive colours  of all.

Thrive!

God creates each one of us human with our unique strengths and weaknesses. There are people He blesses to be teachers and there are those He plants to be evangelists. In the real world setting, it would be: there are those meant to be top executives, there are those meant to be singers.

Personality differs for everybody. But character is universal. Commitment, integrity, selflessness, humility, patience, kindness, honesty, forgiving heart, courtesy - those are recognized anywhere on earth.

Do you know? Those things are written in the Bible as fruits of the Spirit. Paul said that Christians are qualified to be true Christians when we produce these fruits, by a changing of character. We "transform" our old selves to become a much better one. That's only possible when we give our soul completely to Jesus and ask Him to give us the power to do so.

Galatians 5:22-23
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Valentino Couture Fall 2012: Gustave Moreau Inspired

Normally, Valentino will be the typical Valentino. Laces, brocades, lavish embroidery and beadwork, as well as feminine draping altogether creating such a romantic collection (as always). Everything is oh so very gorgeous and dreamy.

But this collection is quite different, in a sense that they prolong the darker air in the previous Fall/Winter RTW 2012 collection.

"The show is half inspired by the painter Gustave Moreau", said Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, leading designers of the couture house.

"He was a lover of dark colours but never painted with black."

See the heavy brocades with painted floral patterns on few pieces. Then, the super rich and super lux gown with extravagant embroideries.

Dreaming on Ground Zero

When your life dreams can be achieved in 5-10 years time, or by having enough money or power, maybe you're not dreaming big enough?

Genesis 37:19
"'Here comes that dreamer!' they said to each other."

The people around you maybe keep telling you that what you dream of is hard. That it's difficult, it's "too dreamy", it's hopeless, irritating, weird, etc. But who cares? Who can have the power to rip us off our dream?

Living your dream life may be hard, but not impossible. Dreams are meant to be reached out to and to be pursued anyway. So naturally, they will be the hardest thing we have to fight for in our lives - because it's a dream! If it's easy, why dream?

Now start telling yourself that it's okay to be dreamy. It's okay to grow your imaginations and let them run wild. It's okay to accept people mocking you and your dreams because they think it's ridiculous.

Maison Martin Margiela Fall 2012 Couture: Crystal Masks

The most spectacular thing about this MMM's couture show is the amazing crystal-encrusted face masks. Similar to the Alexander McQueen trademark masks, they are very lavish and mysterious. I wonder what the models actually feel when wearing those head ornament.

Slit Skirt on The Street

Not for the faint-hearted: Bodycon and slit skirt.

It's 2011 trend, but oh well, summer or winter, slit skirt can always beef up your outfit (as compared to a normal mini skirt). Pick the light, flowing fabric and gorgeous bright colours for spring/summer, while for the colder seasons we can opt for slim silhouettes with leather or silk materials on a darker tone.

Strangers

Amazing story of how our lives are always intertwined together with other's. Sometimes it's hard to imagine how the simplest act of love, kindness, mercy, and forgiveness can have a huge potential of saving another soul.

Let's not take our small gestures lightly :)

5th Solo Batik Carnival 2012: Batik Metamorphosis

Just recently held in Surakarta, Central Java (the island where I stay in Indonesia). It's the fifth Solo Batik Carnival (SBC).  The annual event is held to celebrate Indonesian authentic traditional art on textile. The costumes, with their splendors and innovative designs, are handcrafted by some of Solo's finest batik artisans.

250 participants wearing various costumes and batik attire presented traditional dances in the event with a theme of "Batik Metamorphosis". Three Indonesian super-beauties appeared there wearing gorgeous costumes: Puteri Indonesia 2011 Maria Selena (beauty queen), Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2011 Andi Natassa (tourism queen), and Duta Lingkungan 2011 Liza Elly (environment envoy).

No Judge No No No

God is our only judge. Who are we servants to judge another servant? Sometimes, being a Christian for so many years may influence our perspective toward other believers as well as the non-believers.

"Why is he doing this? What's the motive? Is she a Christian or "Christian"? Why would he keep falling into the same sin over and over again? How could he cheat on his business partner? They call themselves Christian??"

It's really easy to fall into this judgmental mode and become cynical to those Christians who we think are not "Godly" enough. We are, afterall, human beings created with mental capability to think and make evaluations. Naturally, we react on things happening around us. We build opinions. We observe, and we respond.

But then again, the apostle Paul strictly advises us to go against our natural desire to judge people. We are not the judge - God is. He is the One and Only one who's allowed to give that final judgment on a person's heart and true intention.

I Will Never Leave You Nor Forsake You. Just Believe in Me :)

When everything seems to be stumbling down. When life seems to be fighting against you. When you're hurting so much and you feel nobody's listening to your heart's cries. When the pain seems to be so real it crushes your spirit and weighs your shoulder down..

Reach out to the light. Someone's waiting there.. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He always looks after you and He knows everything about you.

The Mastermind has prepared a great plan for you. Trust in His divine, grand scheme of your life. Be strong and courageous! Don't let life weighing you down. Give you worries to God and let He speaks into your soul..

Money Matters: Christian versus The Dollar Bills?

Few days ago, one of my closest friend suddenly said that she reads my blog often. Woah! Do you know how happy I am to hear that? I think she doesn't have any clue how her words affected me. Well, I'm happy to hear that there's actually somebody in this world who appreciates my writing *teehee.

And to top it off, she said she feels really encouraged and enlightened by my Christian-writings. Holy! Thanks Lord for giving me a pair of hands to type, a wonderful macbook pro that can last for 6 hours without battery, and a fresh brain to compose and craft Your words bits by bits. Thanks!

There's been too many things going on in my life lately. Too much to be mentioned altogether in one post so I think I'll just spread it later. Bit by bit.

As a starter, the most important lesson I've learnt these past 2 months is about money and God. You see, it's not money versus God. It's money and God. My church talked about money matters in the whole June and I've learnt a great deal out of it. You can see the sermon summary here.

So what exactly have I learnt? Let's keep it simple and witness my love proclamation toward bullet points.

Sleep It All Away.. Don't :)

Do you have trouble sleeping? Have you always got this insomniac issue? Do you lie down on your bed for hours trying to sleep off your life?

Fear may suddenly strike you and cause your heart to worry about things.. Maybe you're anxious about the future. Maybe your heart is burdened by the thoughts of the past. Or maybe you're one lonely soul with an emptiness and don't know what you're doing on earth..

Whatever the reason is, there's one thing for sure. God sees you. He knows you and He always looks after you. He's always been around, all along..

Give all your burdens and worries to Him. Just rest it all in His great hands. Give it all away.. Take a deep breath and release everyyyyything to Him, and be at peace.

Last Week.. and Officially Missing You by Jayeslee

Janice and Sonia just came to Jakarta last Saturday! It's sad that I missed the chance to see their actual performance at JPCC. I just knew about their visit like on the week before and every ticket was sold out (said a friend).

It's great to have talented Christians rise up and impact the world in many ways. Singing/entertainment industry is certainly one of the way. I feel blessed by even just knowing that these people exist. Many people say that the entertainment industry is really tricky and temptation is ever-present and Christians should shy away from those "dark" world.

Which Balenciaga Hardware? Which Type and Size?

We all know that it's soooooo freaking hard to decide which hardware on which leather works best. I myself haven't been able to really decide on which ultimate combo I'll get on my dream B-bag. I've never owned a B-bag before, mostly due to reasons like the bag's sloppiness and lack of structure (I love structured bags where I know my stuffs won't be flipping around and which are where).

But that alone doesn't take away my fondness of this motorcycle line. They're so cool! Specially the candy colours (red, yellow, orange, green, blue). Really an eye candy.

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Fall 2012: Cross-Dressing and Gender Bender Extravagance?

It's a runway of gender bender sensuality and extravagance, tipping a bit on the dark edge. The collection is supernatural. I feel such a strong sense of power in the sharp-lined, dark-toned pieces. Some pieces are so alluringly crafted to present a silhouette of cages on the body. Even more with the metal chokers and bodices worn by the models.

The robes are exceedingly lavish. They are very elaborate with a great deal of fur and detailed embroideries.

Cinderella Loves Christian Louboutin: Modern Reinvention of A Classic, Fairytale Glass Slipper

Christian Louboutin and fairytale shoes comes alive? No surprises. Now, the brilliant designer will release his own red-soled version of the glass-slipper to celebrate the upcoming release of Cinderella's Blu-ray Diamond Edition.

The collaboration will also produce a 10 minute short movie titled "The Magic of The Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story". Christian will make a cameo appearance there and I can't wait to see it being released on Youtube! Wanna see..

Paris Couture Week 2012: Alexis Mabille, Zahla, Iris Van Herpen

Haute couture by Alexis Mabille - my fave designer for now. I'm always a big fan of masculine attire for women. It's a simple two-toned black and white ensemble. Very gothic with bloody red lipstick. Cool!

Atelier Versace Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2012: Donatella's Goddesses

I've always thought Donatella Versace is a bit of an eccentric. Specially her face. You'll know what I mean if you google her up and see how she looks. But fashion-wise, she got the edge. The new Atelier Versace collection really lives up to the name. It's Versace, duh. What other brand can be as glamorous, as fabulous, as extravagant, as royale as this design house Versace?

This is the first show they make after 15 years of halting the expensive made-to-measure spectacular couture business. It's coming back again, at last.

Inspired by the Greek goddesses, models showcased their tiny waist and fab legs with a classic makeup and hairdo. Corsets are plenty, with Roman numeral signs and tons of embellishment. The long dresses are breathtakingly gorgeous!!

Marry Me.... by Train

I know. I knowwwww.. It's nowhere near spring nor wedding season so why this Marry Me song after yesterday's Marry You angie..? So the story is, someone downloaded this song in his iPhone and I heard it and I love it. Then I searched it on youtube and got the title mixed with the other marry-ing song by Bruno Mars. Well it's Marry You and Marry Me. What do you expect? Lol.

Marry You by Rockin' Bruno Mars

I'm having this Bruno fever lately. He's a bit of a shortie but I really love his rockin' face and style. But hmmmm maybe not with that sixties hairdo, but hey, his voice is awesome!

Enjoyyy :D

Just Love!

Very thankful for His goodness.. and very scared of falling out of Christianity faith. The world is diluting the boundaries of right or wrong and it's kind of scary.

Today, someone told me that it's not in our position to judge people. She reminded me that it's not within our right to say what's right or what's wrong for other people. I’ve been pondering about this issue for a while and I think God will also say that it’s true.

Jesus never came to the world to condemn people anyway. He came to love.. and to show mercy, and forgiveness, and acceptance. He didn't came to let people know how sinful they are, or make people feel even worse than how they already feel.

Jesus came to love - that's all. He came to give Himself up to the world and sacrificially serve the church.

I know, in reality, it's really hard to accept people with values that are clearly different from us. For example, I sincerely think that homosexuality is wrong. I don’t care about genetics hereditary peer pressure parental rejection etc. Whatever the reason is, it’s wrong. Why? Because the bible says so. I know that many people will be appalled to hear Bible as the excuse, but what can I do? My faith is in Jesus and the Bible.

Grateful, Grateful.

Being grateful is something we choose to do every single hour in our every single day. In any situation, be it bad or good, we can always decide how we're going to respond DESPITE of our heart's condition.

When it's bad, surrender to God. When it's good, rejoice in His name. Keep relating back to God in whatever things we face and don't let Him out of the loop, because when He's present, you'll have a sure path to victory.

But then again, is it about winning/losing? How would you define your win-lose situation in life?
