Met Gala 2012, The Red Carpet, and Sensational Coutures

Polished hair, bewitching beauties, amazing gowns and shoes, sparkling jewels, perfect steps, incredible stares - what else can it be? It's where all the poised superstars gather at a single night: The Met Gala 2012.

Also nicknamed the "Oscars of the East Coast", the Met Gala is an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of a fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's hosted by Vogue, and is regarded as NYC's most prestigious annual social event. Celebrities flock at this super exclusive red carpet evening with dresses to impress.

These are some of the best looks with ravishing gowns and incredible style. But oh well, just like any other thing in life, some of these babes are drop dead gorgeous, and some are just... plain weird. Although I know that being weird (sometimes) is the industry's norm, some of the frocks still take me by surprise. See if you get what I mean.

Anyway, enjoy the stunning shots! Let me know what you think :)

Jessica Stam in Dior

Marion Cotillard in Dior

Anna Wintour in the gold lobster ornamented Prada dress. Very cute.

Angela Lindvall in Prada

Jessica Biel in Prada, with Justin Timberlake, the happily engaged couple :)

Diane Kruger in Prada. Awefully gorgeous!

Bee Shaffer in Erdem

Coco Rocha in vintage Givenchy

Rooney Mara in Givenchy

Beyonce in Givenchy

She's a goddess. The only thing missing is another layer of clothing. You can have a perfect view of Beyonce's butt there.

Cate Blanchett in Alexander McQueen

Florence Welch in Alexander McQueen.

You get what I mean? This is how weird this Met Gala can be. I think the dress really should just stay in the runway. She looks like a three-tier weird fluffy decoration. Well, some make it through, some don't. That's fashion.

Lily Collins in Valentino. Very sweet and romantic!

Brit Marling in Valentino

Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino

Constance Jablonski in Haider Ackermann

Malin Akerman in Diane von Furstenberg

Natalia Vodianova in Louis Vuitton

Ashley Greene in Donna Karan Atelier

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan

Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu

I love this Miu Miu's unique glass-ornamented piece. But I think it should stay as the additional extra, not the primary piece.

Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren

Hanneli Mustaparta in Calvin Klein

Elizabeth Banks in Mary Katrantzou

Debra Messing in Kaufman Franco

January Jones in Versace

Ivanka trump in Peter Pilotto

Jessica Alba in Michael Kors

Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe. Sensational.

Renee Zellweger in Pucci

Linda Fargo in an extremely, beautifully ornamented Naeem Khan

Marpessa Hennink in Dolce & Gabbana

The Courtin-Clairns in Mugler

Sofia Vergara in Marchesa. What an amazing detail.

Carolyn Murphy in Alexander Wang

Caroline Trentini in Theyskens' Theory

China Chow in Jean Paul Gaultier Couture

Emma Stone in Lanvin

Amy Adams in Giambattista Valli Couture. Really suits her princess-y aura.

Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello.

I don't know how Anja can manage to make it so bare and yet still make it look so unsexy. Sorry.

Chanel Iman in Tom Ford

I love Valentino!
