Tell Him and The Truth Will Set You Free

I still got a chill.. no matter how many times I listen to this song. From ages ago till now. These two ladies are like the epitome of female vocalists. Divine voices and both are so beautiful! The duet is a killer. This just confirms my thought that people will always look stunning when they're living their dreams..

Somehow, I feel like encouraging a confused and hesitant girl friend to just believe in love. Believe in your heart, but complement it with a wise, guided steps to guard her heart from unnecessary heartbreak.  What I mean by unnecessary is jumping into the wagon without any calculation about the speed, weight limit, carried goods etc. If you get what I mean.

Love will always involve a heartbreak. But it's a good thing if it's a necessary pain. If we don't get hurt that would mean either (1) we've never loved, or (2) we're in a dangerous state of denial. Even God is hurt a lot of times by our actions..

Your love can't be denied. The truth will set you free.

All in all, just want to admire this beautiful duet and encourage you to pursue your love. Jiayou!!

Singapore, Maxwell, and A Miracle ;)

So I went to City Harvest Church in Singapore last Sunday, together with all my great friends from Sydney church. At first, I only intended to visit my long lost girl friend Gaby's church. So I told her that I'm gonna be in Sing over the weekend, and I told her that I wanna go to her church. The cool thing is, Mr John Maxwell will be the guest speaker on that very Sunday! You can't imagine how excited I am to hear him talking in person!

You know, that incredible feeling where you finally gonna meet the person you adore so much. I love his writings sooo much. It's like I'll finally see this guy whom words I quoted so much in my facebook stats and tweets. Amazing!

Then I successfully maneuvred everyone (all 7 of us) to go there and listen to his sermon. What is it about? Let's sum them up and say it's about prescription for miracle (I have no idea what the sermon title is). This is the recipe.

When there's a need sets by a few, and each individual understands his responsibility and gives his all, regardless of the odds, then Jesus works a miracle.

Bubbles in That Glass of Champagne

One of my favorite song by Rod Stewart, You Go To My Head.

I was really crazy about him back then in 2007-2008, during my early college year. Played his song too many times until my sisters got annoyed at home. Lol. And it's just one of my little annoying habits, you know, playing a current fav song over and over and over and over.....again. Till everyone is sick about it.

This song is dedicated to all you lovebirds out there. Share me some of your happiness please. Enjoyyyy..

Guarding A Heart: To Practice Good Thoughts and Have Control of Our Mind

Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.

Some people think it's okay to hate a person as long as we don't physically/literally do anything to harm them. But Jesus tells us to take another mile: Don't even think of hating a person. The world teaches us that hating people is bad because it's toxic to our mind. Jesus, however, says that we shouldn't stop hating people only for the sake of our emotional health. We should stop it because God loves people.

If God has so wonderfully made and created that person, and we love God so much, how can we stand hating a human being whom He loves deeply?

When we dislike someone, it's very easy for the devil to put negative thoughts about that person in our head. The devil is like a roaring lion. He will use every chance available to bring us down spiritually, by all means. He can trick our mind into believing his deceptions and “white” lies. He will let us think that as long as we don't slap people on their face, it's okay.

Truly, Madly, Deeply Loving Savage Garden

I remembered listening to this song over and over again in my primary school period. At that time, I didn't realise that this pop band Savage Garden is actually an Australian!

The single was released in 1997. Fifteen great years it's gone through and now I still find myself loving it! Were you a fan? Or are you?

Move Forward and Leave What's Past in The Past

What a beautiful composition by Israel Houghton and Ricardo Sanchez. This song Moving Forward can be found in the album The Power of One.

I really love the emotion captured by the music.. It's just amazing how God always gives us a second chance, no matter what sin we did in the past. Every wrong that we inflicted on other people and even to ourselves is irrelevant in His eyes.

He doesn't care about our past.

He loves us for who we are, and that means not to focus on the things that have passed. We are renewed by His power. We are cleansed, and purified. As white as a snow, untainted as a blank piece of paper.

I dedicated this song to you who are torn at the past. You may feel that the time has stopped in the past and your current existence is frozen. You may feel chained and bound, unable to move ahead. Be encouraged, my dear. Seek God and find your freedom in Him. By His strength, you'll be able to move forward and leave the past behind.. God see through your mistakes and past deeds. He sees your broken hearts and your tears of sorrow.

I know you can do it, because I can do it, and there are million others who've relied on His amazing love and move forward :)

Greatest Prize of Completing The Race

Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes--who are they, and where did they come from?"  I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.

Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.  For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Beauty in God's Sight, Beyond The Surface Level

Do you prefer the hot or cute girl?.

A conversation with a male church friend yesterday reminded me of this phrase, "Beauty is fleeting, but the fear of the Lord endures forever." I feel so blessed to be surrounded by Godly male friends who, although sometimes not too sure of what they're seeking from a life partner, are always sure of one quality they want: A God-fearing woman.

Our convo finally led me to think of beauty. Well we know that the world has imposed certain "common" standards of beauty. These are the norms, the must-be and must-haves of every single women here if we're aiming to get that perfect guy. I think we all know what those criteria gonna be so I'll save the lengthy elaboration.

This time, I learn about beauty through God's own perspective. How does God see a beautiful lady?

1 Peter 3:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 Ad Campaign: The Sassy Indian Mistress

The Indian inspired campaign features clothes from the Metier d'Arts Paris-Bombay collection, debuted December last year in the Grand Palais, Paris. The Russian model Daria Strokous is the star of this campaign with her beautiful pose and intricate, exotic flair.

This is like the modern take on some sophisticated Indian classics. We can see interesting combination of draped silks, strings of pearls and jewels, tunics over trousers, with a European twist of tweed coats. And I may say, the headpieces and the hairdo are amazing.

Met Gala 2012, The Red Carpet, and Sensational Coutures

Polished hair, bewitching beauties, amazing gowns and shoes, sparkling jewels, perfect steps, incredible stares - what else can it be? It's where all the poised superstars gather at a single night: The Met Gala 2012.

Also nicknamed the "Oscars of the East Coast", the Met Gala is an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of a fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's hosted by Vogue, and is regarded as NYC's most prestigious annual social event. Celebrities flock at this super exclusive red carpet evening with dresses to impress.

These are some of the best looks with ravishing gowns and incredible style. But oh well, just like any other thing in life, some of these babes are drop dead gorgeous, and some are just... plain weird. Although I know that being weird (sometimes) is the industry's norm, some of the frocks still take me by surprise. See if you get what I mean.

Anyway, enjoy the stunning shots! Let me know what you think :)

Honor and Reverence Up Against Pride

Revelation 4:11
"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

This time I'm highlighting some verses about honoring God. The reasons, why and how to do so. It's very easy to slip into a self-righteous-ing (if there's such word) mindset as we stay longer in Christianity. But always remind ourselves that discipleship is all about following Christ, not the religion.

Religious activities in a religion sect is created by humans, not God Himself. He only instructs us to follow Him, praise Him, rever and honor Him with all our might. By honoring God, we're minimizing the chance of falling into pride, one of the biggest challenge any believer will face.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

One Friday Night

Yes, one Friday night with great food and awesome companies. My friend owns a share of this Nest Grill restaurant and invited me (and some more friends) to join the 7-course dinner, with a new chef showcasing his expertise in Modern Australian cuisine. The name is Tom Eadie, from the famous Melbourne's Vue de Monde.

Hj-story: Bad Dreams

Once in a blue moon, I was in the office doing some random things (was pretty free at that time) and a friend bb me a link to a website. If you're not an Indonesian, here's some light to what bb means: It's the slank term for instant-messaging someone through Blackberry phones. Everyone in Indo uses Blackberry. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating it a bit, but still, even if it's not everyone I can still definitely declare that almost everyone in Indo uses Blackberry. Say, around 99% of us? That's the norm.

So anyway, I was suspicious at the link my friend gave me. I was initially afraid it'll be some random link for virus (yes, friends can sometimes be mean) or some scary, horror pop-up picture that everyone always encounters once or twice in a lifetime. So I ignored the link until he bugged me few more times to check it out.

And what did I find? This unbelievably cute art! Check the site here and read the author's description. Read his original inspiration for all his drawings and read the captions. He's such a sweet guy.

Minuet of Life, and A Serving(s) of Yoga For The Evenings

Hey life!

Sorry for not posting regular items at a regular schedule lately. Been extremely busy with adapting to my new job. It's been suchhh a great month-off of soul seeking and job hunting, and regardless of how much I'm loving my current job right now, I'll still miss those carefree days filled with hours and hours of gospel digging and self-reflection sessions.

Anyway, I took this shot during one of the church's dinner gathering where CEO of PT Summarecon Agung Ltd came as the guest speaker. Wearing a simple, basic Zara dress in lovely orange shade.

Church-Shopping: Are You Sailing Along The Cruise Ship or Battleship?

So freaking true. I was always thinking about church's service, friendliness of the usher team, the praise & worship team quality, etc etc. Someone slap me!

The Digital Era: Higher Suicidal Intents?

Small picture, simple words. You are somebody's reason to smile.

How often do we forget to admit, that we matter to people? Maybe not the whole earth, but some people do actually care about us. They love us for who we are, for our qualities and imperfections. Repeat: They love us for who we are.

Not about who we were, who we will be, what we do, things we possess, talents that we have. It's not about that. It's not even about how we treat them. They simply love us for who we are. Our existence matters to them. They have joy by having our presence in their lives.

In this digital age, I always think it's so easy for us to fall into the extreme side of individualistic lifestyle. Based on my own personal experience, I can be content staying at home doing my stuffs and find all the information that I need through the internet. Interpersonal communication starts to take place by all the digital means - facebook, twitter, skype, pinterest, name them.
