Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2012 RTW: Tailored Military Runway

This collection reminds me of Russian military camp, where all the coats are structured greatcoats and capes in felted wools. Very sleek, very tailored, very Russian.

The main colour palette is black, khaki green, navy blue. Gypsy skirts are seen in many pieces, full of Bohemian flairs.

Colour-blocking, Chanel GST or Prada Saffiano Tote?

Which one do you think suit my outfit better?

At that time, I was only thinking of having some colours in my cheerful daytime. Didn't realise it would turn out to be a "colour-block syndrome". My friend told me that I had merged all four basic colours altogether at once, but she said it was okay, so it's okay.

Well, I love contrasts, I love colours, what else can I do?

Bally Made Her Come Back: Pre-Fall 2011

Okay I know this is like a year late, but I love this collection so much, I've decided to post it here for the world's sake. 2011 is like the coming-back year of Bally, with their newly appointed creative directors Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler (worked in British label Aquascutum). The brand needs an extremely high amount of fresh creative energy to lift up their brand's popularity and image. Being dropped off the fashion radar certainly isn't great news, is it?

World's hottest models were used in this show. Plus the new directors, re-establishing the Bally-ish feel of the collection sounds like a viable direction in the near future. Napa aviator jackets and city skirts filled the runway. Clean-cut and classic pairs of blouse and pencil skirt were plenty, accessorized with slim leather belt on the waist and knee-high leather boots. Sexy!

Alberta Ferretti Fall 2012 RTW: Awefully Amazing Romance

One word to describe it all: AMAZING.

It's a fresh leather meets lace show, leaping back and forth from the '60s femininity and this modern day's edge. Strong-shouldered jackets and separates are the highlight of the collection too, showing up thigh-length and belted at the waist.

There are some dresses that speak oh-so-Ferreti. You know those keywords: romantic, floaty, and that slightly vintage-y feeling. Cocktail dresses are also plentiful. Beads, fringe, lace, sheers, Ferretti use all these to embellish almost all of her pieces. Evening wears seem to be coming off from heaven.

DKNY Fashion Publicist: Everyday is A Fashion Moment

This is a video of how a fashion publicist's life is really full of so many THINGS to do. Life is extremely busy and hectic. She constantly needs to be on-the-go and drinks coffee like an elephant does. Her job has an extreme amount of people exposure, where everything that she does, every single thing, is actually about people management.

How to organize the runway schedules, how to ensure celebrities and models satisfaction in the shows, how to arrange the media advertising on the events, how to pick the best photographer out of that zillion options. And she even has to determine the guests seating arrangement! That's what she called "the ultimate fashion board game. She's funny. Basically it's about how to make sure everything falls into perfect pieces, and nothing goes wrong on the day.

Three shows in a fashion week: DKNY men event, DKNY show, Donna Karan show. Cool!

Coco Rocha for Longchamp Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign: Dancing in The Streets

This Canadian model was born in 10 September, 1988. That'd give her a 24 years old age tag now. She began her professional career in the modelling industry officially in the 2004, a time when she was only 16 years old. It's hardly surprising since many models in the industry also kickstart their careers early. Some starts with a children beauty pageant, or even entering baby commercials (for those with a more ambitious parent).

Pastel Trend from Fashion Week Spring 2012

I really enjoy how everything turns out for pastel. As you can probably realize, I'm such a huge fan of pastel-ly shades on clothes bags heels bracelets etc. Bright neon colour's definitely not my thing. Wearing an amazingly glaring neon green dress won't really align my appearance with my personality.

It looks good on some people, I think it really does. Some people have a more vivid, livelier character that suits "neon trend" so much. They can be like those bubbly type of girls that we all always keep as our dear friends and remembered for their loud laughs, their-15-centimetres-wide-smile, or even their rainbow-coloured shoes rack.

Pastel means lots (and lots) of light, airy colours like yellows and creamy neutrals. It's a parade of pretty tints, something that reminds you of that sweet, reserved girl across the road with her preference for silk and laces to leathery stuffs. Feminine, graceful, poised but not the mumsy-type of elegant look. Style it with a pretty braid and hair updo, and it's just perfect.

McQueen in The Panda Land

Alexander McQueen is targeting Chinese customer!

Ever since the Great Financial Crisis of 2008 that tremendously hit the western economy, businesses and wealthy investors have shifted their interest from the old player Uncle Sam to the redback Yuan producer: China. Even the Chinese are seen migrating back to the mainland.

But the wave isn't only limited to the financial world. Major European designers are flocking to China, and it's really interesting to see how they make all these strategies to attract and charm the Chinese higher-end consumer market. First we saw Fendi who did their best at the Great Wall of China, then Chanel's show at the river. Now, a love affair between Alexander McQueen and Beijing.

Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2012 RTW: A Surrealist and Seductive Rendezvous

We love her not only for her funny personality and her charming laughs, we love her for reasons way beyond that. Diane von Furstenberg, or DvF, is a world-class designer whose line reflects her real life characters that we all love: A strong, independent business woman, with a principle of never forgetting how to dress attractively within the realm of professional fashion envoy (for her own clothing line).

"With this collection we wanted to work around the body in a different way, and play with wrapping fabrics about the body," said the DvF creative director Yvan Mispelaere. Some of them are provocative, but still maintain the classy seduction ambience, nothing like a Kardashian-over-the-top definition of sexy.

"What is the difference between a rendezvous and a meeting?" asked Diane to Vogue journalist, at the preview for her new collection. She gave Vogue no explicit answer for that particular question, but we can readily see the answer throughout the runway session. She invites us to reexamine the art of seduction.

Plaza Indonesia or Grand Indo?

Was out with my sister couple of weeks ago to Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. It's one of the oldest, most popular, and most expensive mall in Jakarta, standing strong from March 1990 until today. I've been going there quite often these days, since I think what many new malls have is an extremely confusing store direction and arrangement.

Sweetest Valentine's Treats: Handbags/Shoes Chocolate and Ladurée Macarons

Guess what? I don't really love chocolates. Honestly, I eat them only when I feel my sugar level needs some perk-up or when I don't want to fall asleep while working/studying after lunch. I'm not really a big fan of chocolates until I saw these stuffs online. Never saw the real one before!

Vogue UK March 2012 with Karlie Kloss: Lady Luxe

The shots was taken by Mario Testino. I really love these editorials. Starting from the decoration, the super creative pose, the statement accessories, and the heels! If you realise it, I have a HUGE thing for point-toe heels, and Ms Karlie wore pink, purple, green, yellow, gold, beige, white Manolo Blahnik in every shots. And my heart cries out Manolo Manolo Manolo everytime I see these beautiful pictures. Always been a fan of ladylike quirky retro. And her voluminous hair is just amazing.

My Dream Private Apartment? Louis Vuitton Maison London, Bond St

Was doing my usual "market research" online and decided to write something about Louis Vuitton Maison. This luxury brand is particularly famous for their flagship showcases and stores. I don't know how many Maisons are out there but it's at least one in every country, or even one for each state in US.

Office Wear 101: Pointy Heels = Pointy Brains?

So I've been extremely busy lately, and writing a regular post has been quite a tough challenge on my hectic schedule: Shuffling between work, blog, family and friends. I've just recently moved to Jakarta, right away after my last summer holiday in Sydney.

Yes, I'm a Sydney graduate. From the 2nd largest university in Sydney, UNSW, to be exact. If you ask why I chose to go back to Jakarta, it's because I love this city a lot, regardless of its... many things I dare not speak here. Sydney is very precious in my heart, she occupies a special place here. I love Sydney so much! It's just that I love my dearest hometown more. If only I can split my body into two halves.

Now, taking a rest from life's hassles and activities means ONLINE SHOPPING. I deeply bestow my highest esteem to those creators of online-fashion-search-engines. Polyvore makes my life (and yours?) so much easier.

Céline's 2011 Beauty, 2012 Must Have: Grey Orange Phantom

There's a beauty in width.

I know that doesn't apply to girls in general (specially on our waist size) but it's so true in this particular Céline Fall 2011 bag. It's that infamous drooling smiley bag. The phantom bag.

Cost approximately USD3,000

Hermès Le Carré Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign with Coco Rocha

These breathtaking photos are posted by Coco Rocha herself on her Facebook. The campaign is a classic yet playful shoot that accentuates the extravagant scarf collection. Not sure if these are for an ad campaign or an editorial but she looks magnificent on every single shot. The Carré (scarves) are none less gorgeous. The new season's collection stay true to Le Carré Hermès timeless style with a balancing modern twist to it, incorporating patterns like polkadots, sea shell and floral prints.

Chloé: Spring/Summer 2012 Campaign Ad

Initially, I thought Freja Beha Erichsen will be the new face of Chloé's Spring 2012 campaign. But against all the rumours, we found out that the just released Chloé ads are featuring Karmen Pedaru and Kate King, both wearing the exact same dresses as those worn by Freja and Arizona in other ads taken in Chateau Marmont, Los Angeles.

Victoria's Secret Jingle Bells

I know it's like a month late, but these Victoria's Secret Angels are so cute! They tried to combine the Jingle Bells jingle together and you know what, I totally don't care how the song sounds like or how mixed-up their lyrics are. They're all too sexy! And cute, at the same time. A friend once told me that cuteness is everything, since you can buy/develop sexy but not cute. I'd like to ask him how can these Angels be both??

Apparently there's no Jingle Bells in Brazil. Haha. Enjoy!

Hermès Leather Types: Calf and Lamb Skins

In general, leather used in Hermes goods can be classified in three distinct categories: Leather extracted from calfhide (skin), lambhide, goathide, and exotic leather (from ostrich, alligator, crocodile). There are also other materials they use such as nylon, carbon fibre, canvas.

I'll try my best to describe some of the popular leather in the first category, those derived from living beef (the baby as well) and mutton. This article is based on the information I've gathered in the internet, but mainly credited to many experts and Hermes lovers in the PurseForum. If you have any additional info on the leather characteristics, please do let me know.

V73 and their Cheap Hermes Birkin Totes

Few days ago I wrote a post about Thursday Friday, the Stockholm established independent bag company. They created canvas bags with picture of iconic bags printed on the sides, such as the Hermes Birkin, the Chanel Classic Flap, and the Balenciaga Motorcyle.

"Thursday Friday loves fashion – as long as it's fun", is the first line that appears on the company's profile page. True to its spirit, their bags are practical, chic, and playful. It's fun!

Now there's another brand coming up that offers similar approach to handbag fashion, V73. The company is only newly started in December 2011, but regardless of its fresh entry into the market, it has garnered some reputations among the blogging world.

LVMH, Cartier, Chloe: Luxury Goods Are Rising Up Against The Euro

Dropping euro and Swiss franc currencies against the dollar may benefit the stock of European luxury goods companies. According to a CA Cheuvreux analyst, Thomas Mesmin, the industry's average earnings before interest and taxes may rise by 1.3% to 1.5% for every 1% decline in exchange rates.
