Chanel Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign

These pictures are taken by Karl Lagerfeld himself in Antibes, South of France. The models, Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls, are wearing all-white outfits with pretty Chanel accessories. I really admire how Karl, with his daring personality, always tries to pull out fresh, different ideas. Gymnastic bars certainly create a distinct vibe for the shots.

Without doubt, these photographs are unique, in the sense that they're able to stand apart from the rest. I personally think that this campaign looks peculiar, but in an interesting way. It's able to draw your attention and intrigue us to see what's in the ads.

Who can think of combining matchstick-thin models with gymnastic tools in an ads? Only Karl. And those models were earnestly doing all the gymnastic acts without a single look of sweat.

They have us dreaming of a faraway vacation in a secluded island. Or like the theme of this year's Chanel spring collection, going back to the Mother Ocean.
